Modern Bathroom Renovation in Cardiff – Newcastle Bathroom Makeover

This bathroom had a very large corner spa bath with shower over it. The client never used the spa bath as it took too long to fill the bath tub and was a pain getting in and out of just to take a shower.

The client called us to get a more practical modern bathroom fitted out at their Cardiff home.

Firstly the spa had to go. We began by stripping out all the PC items and all tiled walls removed. We then installed a cavity slider door as the client preferred it over a hinged door.

We then used gloss white rectified white tiles 2.1m high all round and 300 x 300 floor tiles with tile insert wastes.

We made a walk-in shower (no door or hob) and used a frame-less glass shower panel, with a great little niche for the shampoo.

We then installed a 1200mm wall hung wall vanity cabinet with china top. Also a 1200mm shaving cabinet and a wall hung tallboy giving them plenty of storage even for towels.

The Vanity, tallboy and shave cabinet all have finger-pull soft closed doors, which give a modern handle less cabinets.

The finish looks great and the client now has a full functional modern bathroom.

Built-in Wardrobe Installation Belmont Lake Macquarie

One of our clients needed more storage at their Belmont residence, and decided to call us to discuss the process.

First we had a look at the space and took some measurements to see how much room we had to play with. After discussing the storage requirements, and the layout, we set to work on the installation.

The wardrobe would all be built one-site, from scratch. And would be “built-in” and become a permanent part of the house one completed.

The Built-in wardrobe design consisted of 3 sliding timber doors on the outside, and inside we added some adjustable shelves in different configurations. Hanging rods and a giant storage area in the top section of the robe.

As this was an older house, it was a bit of a challenge with the unlevel floor and the walls being out of plumb. However, as Andrew is bit of a perfectionist, the final result turned out amazing.

So there you have it! This beautiful built-in wardrobe is now a permanent part of our clients home in Belmont.

Deck Renovation and Repair Maryland – Newcastle Deck Makeover

For many people ‘life is a deck’. Sitting on the deck with a coldie after a hard days work, makes it all worthwhile.

Ahh.. this is living!

This is how ‘Everyday life’ is now for our latest happy customer.

However, wind back the clock on this job, things where a little bit different.

When we arrived we found an old deck with non-compiling wooden hand rail that was totally unsafe to walk on.

First begins the repairs. We figured we could not salvage much of the old deck, so we striped away everything including the suspended joists.

We installed a new set of H3 LVL suspended Joists to make the deck save again.

Then we installed 90mm merbau(hardwood) decking with a screw-less system called Klevaclip this gives air flow between underside of decking board and top of joist.

With the safety rails we went with 90mm x 90mm Merbau posts and a Merbau top rail. Then added a modern stainless-steel cable for the remaining handrails.

The deck now complies with Australian standards and also looks amazing.

The customer is so happy. Now they have a usable deck on the eastern side of house for that morning coffee in winter or cold beer on a summer’s afternoon.

Caring for a disabled person can be very challenging which is why you always need the best equipment.

A disabled shower is a necessity that is very important in giving the best care and confidence possible to the disabled person.

Rook Building has dealt with this type of job before, so we knew exactly what to do for the client.

To begin with this was a 2nd floor shower that was leaking into ground floor lounge room, due to failed waterproof. That had to be fixed!

The previous shower was your traditional 900mm X 900mm cubical with a door on a brick hob.

Because this client was elderly, we made it a walk-in shower (no door nor hob) with a frameless glass shower panel.

The shower is hand held on a rail which also acts as a grab rail along with a horizontal grab rail and a flick mixer, giving the client easy access and usability with room to have a seat.

We matched the wall tile with existing 200mm x 200m rippled white and match as close as possible to floor with a mosaic blue tile.

So there you have it. The client can now feel comfortable and safe in the shower with all the right features of a disabled shower.

Tiled Veranda Renovation – Small Job in Wallsend Newcastle

This veranda originally had very old Mosaic tiles where about 15% of the existing tiles were missing.

The style of the tile was very outdated and the porch was dangerous and became slippery when the tiles were wet.

According to the client, it was time for this outdated veranda to get a much needed face lift.

With new advanced tiling product we were able to tile over the old tiles with a new modern 300mm x 300mm non-slip tile.

This saved the client time and money which is important.

The now completed renovation to the front veranda has now transforms the entryway to this house in Wallsend.

Time now for the next renovation project.
